so blessed that this trip happened.
IRONS let ma lady and i crash at his and his ladies pad for the weekend so we could hit up outside lands. i wanted to see SF from the eyes i would normally have seen it. not the tourist eyes.
mike lives at the top of california and powell which is pretty much the top of a double black diamond. right when you get on the bike, you are MOVING. going down his hill is a blast, not too fun walking back though.
thursday night we rode down around the ballpark and sipped some tecates while checking out the view. then friday we rode to outside lands. saturday was party hard day so no riding happened at all that day. SUNDAY THOUGH. rode from mikes spot on california and powell to sausilito. the views were gorgeous to say the least but what absolutely was nuts was the weather. sunny at home, storm on the golden gate bridge, sunny in sausilito, and then vice versa for the way back. stopped in to RAPHA for some coffee and inspiration then headed home.
i know this isnt news to half of you but SF seriously makes riding bikes around the city sooo easy. you never realize just how bad san diego is until you go ride somewhere else. bike routes, wiggle, green lanes, just everything in the city is being designed now to help bikes out. if you ever get a chance to bring your own bike abroad, DO IT.
super major major thank you mike yuki and booker bean for letting us crash. come down to SD anytime. you know where we live.
