FULLMOON BIKERIDE

***

Fullmoon Name + Art Meaning :

Full Strawberry Moon – June

This name was universal to Algonquin Tribe. However, in Europe they called it the Rose Moon. Also because the relatively short season for harvesting strawberries comes each year during the month of June… so the Full Moon that occurs during that month was christened for the strawberry.

FULLMOON BIKERIDE #106

San Diego CA : Thanks to everyone who came out to our 105th FMBRBBQ last month. Yes, there was no ride but the BBQ was something new and fun. Little change doesn’t hurt but back to our regular schedule program.  This month we will be heading down south to one of my favorite spots in Chula Vista, The J Street Pier. It over looks towards the Silver Stand in Coronado. This one will be a longer and Mid Pace ride, so be prepared.

THE AWAREWOLFS FMBR GUIDELINES :

“We’re a pack. Not a mass.”

STOP AT RED LIGHTS + YIELD AT STOP SIGNS

STICK TOGETHER + STAY IN ONE LANE + HOLD YOUR LINE

RESPECT THE RULES OF THE ROAD AND ONE ANOTHER

CALL OUT CARS + COMMUNICATE WITH THE PACK

WEAR YOUR HELMET + USE YOUR LIGHTS

DRIVERS WILL NOT RESPECT US UNTIL WE RESPECT THEM.

Don’t be a negative example of a positive movement.

FULLMOON BIKERIDES (FMBRs for short) are a group bicycle rides that take place every full moon. FMBRs are a great way to stay in tune with the lunar calendar and consistent occurrence that gets you off your couch to ride your bike! We urge everyone to obey the rules of the road while on this ride and be as aware as possible.

Be sure YOU and YOUR BIKE are up for a medium paced ride. “Anyone and anybike” is welcome but, a fixed gear, road bike, ten speed, or mountain bike is the best to keep up. If you’re leading the pack, stick together and try not to drop anyone.

***We want YOU to host a FULLMOON BIKERIDE.***

FMBRs have now happened in San Diego CA, Dallas TX, Tempe AZ, Las Vegas NV, Bristol England, Johannesburg South Africa, Oslo Norway and a few other places. We want to have more cities around the world hosting an AWLF inspired FMBRs to raise awareness of our mission – SAFE CYCLING ADVOCACY.

Need advice or help planning a FMBR? Hit us up.
We’d love to help you out and we’ll promote your FMBR on our site!
